Welcome Delegates to the Cerritos Novice Conference!
My name is Rachel Dang and I will be chairing your committee this year. I am so excited to kick off this conference with debating over the Rights of Indigenous People. I am currently a senior in Cerritos High School and have been part of Model United Nations for the past three years, entering in on my fourth year. Through MUN, I have been able to gain much knowledge about topics I did not know about before, both politically and humanitarianly, and have been able to build friendships that I know will be lifelong. Model United Nations had given me a chance to break out of my shell. Aside from MUN, I am an active member of the Cerritos High School Regiment of Gold Band and have been apart of it for three years, entering in on my fourth year. I recently became involved in the theatre program and acted in my first play last fall. I acted as one of the main characters Leeann in the play A Piece of My Heart, so I am very comfortable with talking in front of people and performing in front of large audiences. My favorite hobbies are snowboarding, binge-watching television shows, and singing or doing anything art related in general. I truly hope that you find that this conference has given you a fun learning experience and you continue to participate in MUN throughout your high school career.
