Hello everyone! My name is Yvonne, and I'm pleased to be your Secretary-General for the 2018-2019 school year! This is my fourth year of MUN, and it's been an incredible journey for me! The years of intensive debate and endless research have imparted much knowledge of international affairs and global issues, and in particular, I grew fascinated with topics related to drugs and crime: one of my first topic ever in MUN. In addition to that, I found that MUN offered so many opportunities to improve my confidence and public speaking, and I was able to bond with my MUN family as we traveled to New York and Davis to compete. Outside of MUN, I'm part of the Science Olympiad, CyberPatriot team, and track team, and I'm president of our school's National Honor Society and Taiwanese Club. Outside of school, I'm a boba connoisseur, so everytime I go to a different city, I find a new tea shop to raid. In my free time, I like to make Japanese-French fusion desserts like choux pastry cream puffs and chiffon cakes. I love dogs--corgis and shibas are my absolute favorite! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!

My name is Justin Jung, and I'm very excited to serve as your 2018-2019 Co Under-Secretary General of Technology! MUN has been a passion of mine for the past six years, and I would love to share that passion with you. I feel that Model UN has so much to teach us, not only about the world, but ourselves as well. At conferences, I specialize in conflicts-based committees and topics, particularly Security Council. Outside of MUN, I am involved in Associated Student Body (ASB) as the Executive Vice-President, Student Senate as the Presiding Officer, National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) as President, California Scholarship Federation (CSF) as Vice-President, and National Honor Society (NHS) as Vice-President. Additionally, I participate in two other school clubs: Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) and our math club, Mu Alpha Theta (MAO). Outside of school, I am active in my church's servant team as Media Admin; and in my free time I like to play tennis. If there's anything at all that I can do-whether or not it is related to Model UN-to make your time at Cerritos HS, please do not hesitate to ask!

Aline Pham

Contact: aline_pham@myabcusd.org
Hi everyone! My name is Aline and I am honored to serve as one of five USG’s for the 2018-2019 school year. Joining MUN was the best decision I made in high school. Throughout these past four years, I have been to conferences both local and national - including UC Davis and NHSMUN in New York - where I met people from around the world like Italy and Columbia. Although many topics like child soldiers and nuclear disarmament interest me, I mainly focus on the environment and women’s rights; you could say I’m a tree-hugging feminist. In school, I am the co-president of Octagon and CSF, historian of Class Committee, and a member of Cross Country and NHS. When I’m not studying or catching up on PLL (yes, I’m very behind), I love to watch musicals, tutor, drink boba, and teach swimming. MUN is only FUN when you have someone to guide you through the position papers and speech-writing, so please feel free to ask me any questions!

Hey guys! My name is Tess U-Vongcharoen and I am so excited to be one of your DAOs for this upcoming school year. I have been a part of MUN for four years and it has honestly made a huge difference in my life. You will not only improve in your public speaking skills, but also make new friends and have lots of fun (MUN is FUN!).When I first joined the program, I was a confused and nervous wreck, which is completely normal! I’m happy to answer any of your questions, whether it is about MUN or life in general. Outside of MUN, I am a secretary for our school’s CSF and Jesus Club. Additionally, I play the clarinet in our school’s marching band and wind symphony. In my free time, I love binge watching Disney movies and trying new food places, especially dessert shops! MUN might seem challenging at first, but as DAOs, we are all here to guide you on your journey. Don’t be afraid to email or send me a message on Facebook! I can’t wait to meet all of you guys! :)

Hello! My name is Brianna Roldan and I’m super excited to be one of your Delegate Affairs Officers for the 2018-2019 school year. This will be my third year of MUN and I can honestly say that it has been one of my favorite parts of high school. MUN has opened the door to so many experiences, friendships, and areas of growth that I am very thankful to have been a part of during the last couple of years. Other than MUN, you can find me involved in ASB, as one of the Commissioners of Clubs, and in Lighthouse; Jesus Club on campus. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, baking, and playing with my dog (Gracie) in my free time. Overall, I hope that you guys have a great freshman year MUN experience! I know MUN can be intimidating, but don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and learn from your mistakes. Feel free to say hi whenever you see me around school and don’t hesitate to reach out if you ever need any advice or have questions.

Angela Cooley

Hello everyone! My name is Angela Cooley and I’ll be one of your DAO’s for the 2018-2019 school year. Outside of school, I volunteer at a therapeutic horse riding program for individuals with mental and physical disabilities, as well as a counselor at the Museum of Latin American Art. Although I didn’t attend my freshman year at Cerritos, I want to do my best to create tight knight relationships with each and every one of you. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need help, whether it's about MUN or even life in general. Even if I don't know the answer I'll try and connect you with someone who does! Please feel free to reach out to me whenever - I’m so excited to work with everyone this upcoming year! MUN is such an amazing opportunity - and even if it may be challenging at times, joining this community was one of the best decisions I made as a freshman. It's helped me step out of my comfort zone and meet so many new people that have become some of my closest friends. I promise you won't regret it!

Hey guys! My name is Mark Ahumada and I am so excited and honored to serve as one of you Delegate Affairs Officers for the 2018-2019 school year! Being apart of the Model UN program has allowed me to improve on my speaking and communication skills, but it has also been a form of growth and figuring out my identity! MUN has, and still is, one of the most academically stimulating programs that I have ever been apart of, where stepping out of your comfort zone and engaging with other individuals is not only recommended, but expected. As I now enter my fifth year in the MUN program, I can truly say that MUN has been a major highlight of my high school experience, and I cannot wait to see what this program has in store for you! I cannot wait to guide you all through the thrills that MUN offers, and it is my greatest hope that this program allows you to develop the skills that are needed on becoming an even more informed global citizen. In an dilemma you may face in conference procedure or preparation, just remember that I am only a text message away! Feel free to ask me any questions you may have whether they are MUN or non-MUN related, and do remember that being apart of the MUN team is one of the best decisions you will ever make in high school! Welcome! :)

Grant Chu

Hey Everyone! My name is Grant Chu, and I am privileged to be one of your Delegate Affairs Officers this year. I want to welcome you to Cerritos High School MUN and the exciting journey ahead. There are amazing opportunities in MUN: meeting new delegates, finding solutions to global issues, and embarking in your own personal growth.
MUN has allowed me to learn more about myself and the world around me. It has definitely been a rewarding experience that I hope to share with you. I’ve been in your shoes before and I know that it may seem intimidating, but I am here for you if you need help with MUN or navigating through high school. Although MUN encourages fierce competition, the most valuable lesson you will learn is collaborating with different personalities. Outside of MUN I love to talk hoops, music and of course, politics. I also spend my time volunteering as an Eagle Scout and a Director of Activities for Octagon. My goal as your DAO is to see you all grow leaps and bounds this year. I look forward to meeting you, and I wish you all tremendous success!
