Co Secretary-General
Michal Mengistu

Contact: sg.cerritosmun@gmail.com
Hello! My name is Michal Mengistu and I am more than honored to be one of your Secretary Generals for the 23 to 24 school year! I began Model United Nations in the 7th grade and am now currently in my 6th year of this program. After attending more than 20 conferences I’ve learned crucial lessons and skills regarding cooperation, patience, and leadership. Over my years I’ve dabbled in a plethora of topics ranging from finance to humanitarian conflict to space. I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of a program that allows me to challenge myself and always explore new horizons. Outside of Model United Nations, I take part in serval clubs, most notably as the President of Girl Up and in alternate officer positions at BSU, CSF, and Cerritos Wellness. In my free time, I love to read, have adventures with my friends, and be a Taylor Swift Enthusiast. MUN is an intimidating challenge, but like most things, it gets better with time. I’ve had some of my most incredible experiences in this program, the most memorable being our Nationals trip to New York which I will always cherish. When aspiring to do your best in MUN remember that not only your determination and hard work are essential, but the kindness you treat others with is also key. If you ever need any help never hesitate to contact me, either through social media or email. I can assure you I’m never far when you need a helping hand. Good luck in committee delegates!

Hello everyone! My name is Siddhartha Suresh, and I am beyond excited to be serving as one of your Secretary Generals for the 2023-2024 school year! Entering my 4th year in MUN, I can truly say that my growth in public speaking, research, and leadership has been immeasurable. I am so honored to be finishing off my last year in Cerritos MUN with all the valuable friendships and experiences that I will carry with me for the rest of my life! Outside of MUN, I am actively serving in on-campus clubs as the President of Mu Alpha Theta and the Vice President of Cerritos Wellness. When I’m not at school, you’re likely to find me getting coffee and food with friends or doing anything outdoors! The CHSMUN program truly brought me out of my comfort zone and linked me to a network of creative, ambitious, like-minded individuals. It definitely wasn’t always easy, but sticking through the program truly was the best decision I made within my high school career. Feel free to reach out if you ever want to talk or are just looking for advice, MUN-related or not. I hope that everyone finds the same unforgettable experiences in CHSMUN that I have found, and I sincerely hope that everyone has a wonderful school year!

Under-Secretary General of Technology/Conferences
Ryan Jiang

Contact: ryan_jiang@myabcusd.org
Hello delegates! My name is Ryan Jiang and I’m stoked to be your 2023-2024 Under Secretary General of Technology. I am a high school junior and first started my MUN journey as a freshman. MUN at first may seem like a struggle and a bother, however, as you continue to grow to be a better delegate you’ll have no regrets to have seized the opportunity you were given. I’ve been through my fair share of loopy-loops, but in the end, I’m so grateful to have joined such an amazing program that has strengthened my social skills, mentorship, and collaborations. Some of my favorite committees in MUN are UNODC, UNICEF, Security Council, 4th SPD, UNHCR, and NATO. Outside of school, I enjoy playing sports, such as tennis and badminton, and I’ve also played the piano for the past 7 years of my life. It’s an honor to be given the chance to watch each and every one of you guys grow and observe all your improvements. I hope you guys are able to grow and fall in love with MUN just like I have. I hope you all have a wonderful time in your committees and a productive conference. Please feel free to contact/email me if you ever have any questions or just want to talk.

Under-Secretary General of Delegate Affairs
Khushi Sharma

Contact: daokhushisharma@gmail.com
Hi delegates! My name is Khushi Sharma, and I am so excited to be your USG this year! As a 7th grader, new to MUN, I was extremely shy and not very confident in committee. Yet today, completing the 6th year of my MUN journey, I’m so glad I put myself out there and learned just how fun committee could be. As the USG of DAOs, I aim to help create a welcoming environment for our new fellow MUNers and further our bond within our tight-knit MUN family! Outside of MUN, I am involved in UNICEF, CSF, HOSA, MAZA, and the girl’s Water Polo team. I enjoy reading various books, mainly in fiction and biographical genres, and going on long drives with my Spotify playlists! Some of my favorite artists include Lana Del Ray, Lovejoy, and Arctic Monkeys! I love to travel internationally, to see new cultures and take more pictures! Of the 23 countries I’ve been to, some of my favourites include Switzerland, Austria, and Japan! I hope that you all have an amazing year and I can’t wait to meet all of you! Please don’t hesitate to contact me in regards to any questions or concerns regarding MUN! :)

Hello! My name is Anna Field, and I’m so excited to serve you as your DAO this school year! This is my 3rd year in MUN, and I’ve grown to become very passionate about the program. Although MUN was extremely intimidating at the start, know that it does get better, and easier! Moreover, I’m overjoyed to have the opportunity able to watch over new delegates grow their confidence and speaking skills this year. Outside of MUN, I am captain of the Cerritos Cross Country and Track team, and try to involve myself in the issues I learn about through this program. My hobbies include running, making pesto pasta, and having a good time with my friends. Friendships are probably one of the most valuable thing I’ve gotten out of this program, so I hope you all come to love MUN as much as I do!

Ashley Han

Hello everyone! My name is Ashley Han and I am extremely excited to be a DAO for the 2023-2024 school year. Initially unknowing what to expect from MUN, it has undoubtedly become a significant part of my highschool years. Outside of MUN, you can find me as Secretary of HOSA and American Cancer Society, as well as a weekly volunteer at a local hospital. Some of my favorite activities are adding to my Pinterest boards, getting an iced coffee or matcha, shopping with my friends, and listening to Taylor Swift. As I enter my third year of MUN, I can’t picture the last two years without the genuine friendships and work ethic I have developed because of it. Although I occasionally find MUN to be overwhelming at times, I am constantly reminded of how rewarding it feels when I smoothly deliver a speech or reflect on prior conferences and recognize growth as a delegate. Through this program, I have enhanced my speaking and researching abilities, which has broadened my knowledge about the world, improved my confidence regarding public speaking, and taught me effective skills that will give me a long-lasting advantage past highschool. I hope you all find growth in similar ways through your experience in MUN and I can’t wait to see it happen!

What’s good everybody! My name is Howard Lee and I am blessed to be one of your DAOs this year. I have been in MUN for the past three years, and was on the struggle bus in freshman year! But the whole point of this experience is to stimulate growth, mentorship, and a life-long bond with your amazing peers. I am eternally grateful for being given this experience, and I want to help as many delegates as possible stay on track to success. Through MUN, I’ve been able to become an elite researcher, booming speaker, and all the more confident, building connections and participating in a whole bunch of activities like ASB, BSA, XC/Track, and more! As a DAO, feel free to ask any questions you may have, and as a fellow student at CHS, don’t ever hesitate to ask me for help! In my free time, you might catch me binging sitcoms, vibing to grentperez, and running with my dog or friends! Catch me at IG: @howarblee or G-MAIL @daohowardlee@gmail.com , I’ll respond to you ASAP.
Samantha Meili

Hey, Delegates! I'm Samantha Meili, and I'm thrilled to be one of your Delegate Affairs Officers for 2023-2024! This is my third year in the Model United Nations program, and I am thoroughly enjoying it! Every year, I am educated on global issues, looking for answers to accomplish what's impossible even by the slightest means. M.U.N allows me to improve my leadership, public speaking, and research skills. The best part is the memories made during the program and the gaining confidence as an individual both in and out of conferences. M.U.N has introduced me to an incredible community and friendships, including people who are passionate about current affairs and recognize opportunities to help in real life. Outside of M.U.N., I'm a highly active student on campus who always has a smile on my face! I'm the captain of Cerritos Cheer and a member of our school district's Latino Advisory Committee. In my spare time, I enjoy going to the beach, going on road trips with my family, and listening to music! I, too, am a foodie!! Overall, I am thrilled to have this opportunity, and I am confident that I will lead you to success. M.U.N can be stressful, but I'm here to help you every step of the way! You can do it! Please contact me at any moment; I'm looking forward to meeting you all!
