Hey guys! My name is Jessica Hizon, and I am so excited to be your UN-Habitat chair for CHSMUN 2018. This is my fourth year in Model United Nations here at Cerritos High School, and it has honestly been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Through this program, I have been blessed to be given many opportunities to travel to conferences such as UC Berkeley, UC Davis, and even the Nationals Conference in New York, in which I debated a wide range of topics that allowed me to grow as a delegate. As this may be your first conference for some of you, I encourage you all to participate in debate and improve your skills and knowledge about world issues you may not have been aware of without having necessary conversations and discussions such as what we will be partaking in during this conference. Outside of Model United Nations, I am extremely active in community musical theatre, and have performed in 8 different musical theatre productions. When I’m not researching for a conference or performing in a show, I work with a children’s party character company as Moana, entertaining young kids and hosting parties! I look forward to seeing all of you during the conference and facilitating debate on one of today’s crucial issues in desperate need of a solution.
