What is SCRIP?
SCRIP are gift cards. We have them for a variety of markets such as Ranch 99, Albertson's, and Smart and Final. We have them for some of your son or daughter's favorite restaurants such as Starbucks, Chipotle, and Jamba Juice. We have department stores like Macy's and TJ Max. In total, we have close to 60 different stores that we work with.
How does the program work?
We purchase these gift cards at a discount. When you purchase the cards, 2.5% of your purchase is placed in an account for your son or daughter to help pay for any MUN trip that they choose to attend. By purchasing SCRIP, you also get a discount for the trips that your child goes on. Part of the money also goes to the MUN program. This helps to pay for part of the overall trip cost which also lowers the cost of each trip.
How much does SCRIP cost?
When you purchase a gift card for $10, it costs you $10. There is no loss of money. If these are stores that you already use, SCRIP is a great way to raise funds for your son or daughter. Be careful with your cards. They are the same as cash.
When can I purchase SCRIP?
SCRIP can be purchased in two ways. The first is by filling out the SCRIP FORM. This can be turned in by your son or daughter at any time. We will then fill it on the first or third Wednesday of each month. The gift cards are given back to your son or daughter on Thursday to take home. Please remind your student to pick up the gift cards from Mr. Mustard or Mr. Watanabe.
The other way to purchase SCRIP is to stop by between 6:00 and 7:00PM on the nights that we sell the gift cards. We meet in room 504. We will fill your order while you wait.
Sometimes these dates change, so please check the Parent Page to see if there have been changes to dates.
