My name is Xavier Juarez, and I am so excited to be your Director for ECOFIN. This 2023 Fall Conference will mark my third year of being in MUN. Being able to learn about so many topics that I had previously never known anything about is something that I have always enjoyed and found interesting. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have been able to go to so many wonderful conferences while discussing intriguing topics, ranging anywhere from the ethicality of therapeutic cloning to analyzing the various components that contribute to impeding economic crises. I have been in MUN since my Sophomore year, and although intimidating at first, with the time intensive research that goes into my position papers and solutions to the persistent unnerving feeling I would get prior to speaking, I feel as though I have genuinely been able to hone my skills and become a far more collaborative person than I was prior to my time in MUN. When I’m not concerned with putting in extensive time in researching for MUN, you’ll likely find me taking playing video games like Overwatch 2 or binging anime. When I have the opportunity to, I love to spend time with my family and catching up with my cousins. Feel free to email if you have questions, and I am excited to be able to meet all of you in person at the conference!
