My name is Arya Bhakta, and I'm thrilled to serve as your Director for this year's UNICEF Committee! I'm really looking forward to collaborating with all of you on the topic of Infectious Disease in Children and finding ways that countries and organizations can better provide access to care and protect the world's most vulnerable communities. I hope the Committee is a place where everyone feels comfortable sharing their opinions, debating issues, and offering new ideas. I have been in MUN for two years and have enjoyed all the opportunities and memories it has brought me. Even though the committee can definitely feel intimidating at times, some of my favorite memories have come from the fast-paced discussions and connections I’ve made through conferences over the years. Outside of school, I love going to the beach, matcha runs, listening to music, going to the gym, and playing volleyball. I’m also always down for late night drives and spontaneous hangouts with my friends. I really want this committee to feel welcoming and exciting for everyone. Just remember to not be afraid to speak up and put your thoughts out even if you're unsure. Stay confident through the committee so that you are able to give your best performance. I'm looking forward to meeting you all and seeing the creative solutions that you may come up with! |
