My name is Kate An, and I’m so excited to be your director for the UNHRC committee! Since joining MUN in my freshman year, I’ve always been drawn towards topics dealing with human rights and injustices of people around the world. As I’m now in my 4th year in MUN, I can reflect on the invaluable skills I have developed with my speaking, researching, and collaborating with others: all of which have shaped integral parts of who I am today. Outside of MUN, you can often find me going to concerts with friends, volunteering in the community, listening to music, and dancing both on and off our school dance team. I’ve always loved meeting and speaking to new people, since my time in MUN has really brought out the extrovert in me. Although conference prep may be daunting, all those hours of research will prove to be worth it in debate. Once you’re in committee, don’t be afraid to enjoy working together with your fellow delegates, and being an active participant in debate!
