Hello Delegates, My name is Caitlin Ma and I’m excited to be your Director for UNEP! In this committee, we will collaborate extensively to find solutions to save marine life in peril across the world. I have been in MUN for three years now, and I have spent those three years debating on topics that reflect my passion for the environment. MUN has undoubtedly been the program that has helped me grow the most throughout my high school years, giving me the opportunity to meet new people, learn how to work with others, and overcome my fear of public speaking. Going to New York for NHSMUN and meeting other delegates from around the world was an incredible experience, and I hope many of you will get to experience that as well. When I’m not researching for MUN, I enjoy practicing my guitar playing, reading books, playing video games, and watching cute animations on YouTube. I’ve also been involved in my school’s digital arts program and am Digital Media certified, and I’ve passed all 8 levels of the ABRSM piano performance exams after a painstaking ten years of learning piano. When I’m not playing my own music, I enjoy listening to 5 Seconds of Summer and Lord Huron and would love to attend either of their concerts one day. While MUN might seem daunting in the beginning, know that it gets better with practice! Making mistakes is a part of the MUN experience, and they will only help you become a better delegate in the end. With that being said, raise your placard at every opportunity—it’s better to make mistakes than to regret not trying! I hope to see well-researched, creative solutions in this committee, but also some engaging hooks to lighten the mood! Best of luck! |
