My name is Kai Young, and I am very excited to have the opportunity to be your Co-Director for our UNEA committee! This year will be my fourth year in MUN, and I feel like I have learned so much from being in this program. Through MUN, I have learned a variety of skills, such as speaking, researching, and collaboration. MUN has provided me with a new lens through which I see the world, highlighting world issues and the process to solve them. Through MUN, I have created irreplaceable memories with my friends and created lasting experiences I will never forget. Outside of the classroom, you can find me at the beach, through one of the many surfing competitions I participate in throughout the year. Besides surfing, I spend most of my free time relaxing at the beach or hiking with friends. During the school year, I spend my weekends training in Muay Thai, and have recently received my orange armband. Though I haven’t had much time, I also continue to advance my skills in playing the guitar and hope to pick it up this summer. I also currently work at the Aquarium of the Pacific, conducting research for the Education Department. As the conference approaches, I understand that nerves are common, as this may be some of your guys’ first conferences. Don’t be afraid to email us for any questions you may have! We will try our best to ensure a valuable and enjoyable experience while maintaining professionalism and give you a good idea of what MUN is all about! Good luck to all of you, and make sure not to procrastinate! |
