My name is Avery Updike, and I am so excited to be your Director for UNDP! This will be my fourth year being a part of MUN, and I have thoroughly delved into topics like space, regulating AI, food insecurity, environment, and more. Being a part of MUN has taught me valuable research skills, and I have learned about a plethora of multifaceted issues Outside of MUN, I have explored my interests in Artificial Intelligence (AI) through AI Vanguard, an organization which bridges students and legislators' voices. Outside of AI Vanguard, I also love to spend my weekends both playing and teaching volleyball. I am a three year varsity player at Cerritos High School and have beenplaying since 7th grade! In my free time, I also often like to read books, play video games (currently Valorant), and hang out with my friends. When preparing for the committee, I hope you spend time researching and will be looking for innovative solutions from delegates. I am so proud that you have chosen to do MUN, as public speaking is intimidating. I hope this committee will be an experience that will help you grow as individuals!
