My name is Gracy Singh and I am excited to be your chair for the UN Women’s topic about gender disparities in the workforce. I am looking forward to seeing the diplomacy and critical thinking that everyone brings into committee about a pressing issue such as gender disparities throughout the globe. I have been involved in MUN since 8th grade and have grown to taken a liking to committees such as World Health Organization and UN Women. This is a topic I care about because it is not only from just a policy perspective, but also a personal one. As growing up I have seen how gender roles affect the opportunities for women and girls and end up limiting them whether its in the case of education, leadership, or even professional growth. By partaking in MUN I have been able to step out of my comfort zone and examine global issues from multiple perspectives, while participating in diplomacy and collaboration with others. I am looking forward to seeing all the points brought up in conference and the thoughtful solutions crafted by the delegates through debate and collaboration. My name is Jake Mok, and I’m beyond excited to serve as your co-Director for UN Women! I’m heading into my fourth year of MUN at Cerritos, and this program has truly been life-changing. Through MUN, I’ve made some of my closest friends and built countless meaningful connections. If I had to choose my MUN “superpower,” it would be passion—every speech I give is driven by it, and I’m eager to see what your superpowers are too!Outside of MUN, I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie. I absolutely love dancing even though that’s how I tore my ACL , swimming, and getting way too competitive in water polo with my friends. If you ever want to say hi, you’ll probably find me swimming—morning or afternoon! Attending NHSMUN in New York during my junior year was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life, and I truly hope many of you get the chance to go. If you do, be sure to share your journey with us—we’d love to hear about your growth and experiences in MUN. I’m so excited to see the ideas, energy, and talent you all bring to the committee. Best of luck! |
